EDITORS COMMENTS
In this heartwarming photo print, we see Shandy, the golden-haired cocker spaniel peacefully asleep by his feeding bowl. This snapshot captures a significant moment in Shandy's life as he was recently transferred to a new master during the week ending on November 30th, 1957. However, what makes this story even more remarkable is that Shandy's old master, Dr Gerald Capper of Portman Square Marllebone in London, will continue to pay for his food at a rate of 10 shillings per week. Dr Capper made the difficult decision to find a new home for Shandy due to the arrival of his daughter Rachel. Wanting only the best for his beloved family pet, he placed an advertisement in his local paper seeking a good home with an allowance included. It was then that Albert Bullock stepped forward and adopted Shandy. This photograph serves as a beautiful reminder of the bond between humans and animals and showcases Dr Capper's dedication to ensuring Shandy's well-being despite their separation. As we observe Shandy sleeping soundly on his cozy rug next to his bowl, it is evident that he has found comfort and happiness in his new home with Albert Bullock. Captured by Aubrey Hart from Memory Lane Prints, this image not only encapsulates a moment frozen in time but also tells a touching tale of love and devotion between pets and their owners.
