Red Fox Collection

The red fox is a species of wild dog native to much of the Northern Hemisphere and has a distinctive reddish-brown coat, white throat and chest, black legs and ears, and a bushy tail with a white tip. Its scientific name is Vulpes vulpes. Red foxes are omnivores that feed on small mammals such as mice, voles, rabbits, birds, eggs and insects; they also eat fruits and berries, and are highly adaptable animals that can live in many different habitats including forests, grasslands and even urban areas. Red foxes are solitary animals that form monogamous pairs during the breeding season which usually lasts from December to March. They use their dens for sheltering their young which typically consist of four to six kits born in April or May each year. Red foxes have been hunted for centuries due to their fur but also because they can be pests when living near humans by preying on poultry or other livestock animals.
