The Netherlands, also known as Holland, is a country rich in history and culture. From groundbreaking scientific conferences to breathtaking works of art, the Dutch have made significant contributions to various fields. In 1927, the Fifth Physics Congress Solvay took place in Brussels, bringing together brilliant minds from around the world. This black and white photo captures the gathering of these great scientists who shared their knowledge and advanced our understanding of physics. Centuries earlier, in 1614, the University of Leiden was established in the Netherlands.
